It’s a brave man (or woman) that chooses an engagement ring for their potential fiancé.
There are so many options, different variables to get right - The possibilities are quite simply, endless.
For some people this is all part and parcel of keeping their proposal a surprise, some even relish the challenge. You may have been given an idea of what your partner would like in terms of diamond shape or ring style. They may be partial to just one particular style of jewellery, or if not, they may have given you clues or have a Pinterest or other social media accounts where they might have left some pointers.
To be clear - I’m not telling you to stalk them.
Just perhaps some light snooping is needed to find out if they have thought about this, or liked some celebrities picture of their engagement ring. Maybe, they have just told you straight out what kind of engagement ring they would like (lucky you), or maybe, it all just sounded like mumbo jumbo when they said they wanted a baguette diamond trilogy with pear shape shoulders, all of a G colour, SI clarity grade and above, in platinum, size J. Fear not! This kind of mumbo jumbo makes perfect sense to us.
Of course, a lot of people choose the ring together, this can take a lot of pressure off and be a wonderful part of the journey to share together, but ultimately removes the element of surprise.
Perhaps you've already begun your search but can't find exactly what you're looking for. In this case, Victoria James can help. From choosing a style to setting the stones, we are known for our ability to create a masterpiece from a mere concept.
All of our jewellery is handmade in the heart of the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, where we only use independently certificated diamonds (0.20ct and over). So, you can be sure that whatever diamond you choose the quality has been verified, not by us but by a trusted independent body.
Of course, an engagement ring doesn't always have to contain diamonds, if there's a particular colour your partner is partial to we can always help you discover the perfect stone to match this and provide you with a ring that means the world to them.
Whichever way you choose to get an engagement ring, with or without your partners input - it can be a daunting task - but it’s one that we can make a little easier.
