CAD Work & bespoke commissions.

At Victoria James we can achieve anything you want in terms of design, that special diamond ring you’ve always wanted is easily achievable.

We use Computer Aided Design (CAD) techniques, where we talk about what you would like, you give us your ideas, we draw some sketches then we go away and produce it in a 3D digital format where we can still make changes.

You decide where you have diamonds, where they are mounted, how they are mounted. You can choose what stones are used, be it ruby, tanzanite, sapphires etc, whatever you like we have an extensive range of loose diamonds and gemstones to choose from, covering all qualities and suiting all budgets.

It can be used for rings, earrings, pendants. And of course you can decide what metal you use; silver, gold platinum or palladium.

Here is an example:

CAD Case Study One

Chris and Rachel sent us their sketches by email:

Hi Geoff,

Thanks very much for your time today.

We are still very keen for you to make our ring. Rachel has drawn some pictures to try and highlight some of the key features.

The diamond sits quite low

The ring is very fluid - it has smooth curves not sharp angles and it seems to be one piece - rather than the claws appearing to be separate components

We think the ring width is the same all around (it doesn't go thiner towards the claws - which means that a wedding band/eternity ring will fit flush against it)

Side View - Rachel describes the angle of the ring band to the claws as "a curve like a wishbone”.

Viewed from the top - As the ring band approaches the top its separates in two - the two halves of the band then appearing to form the claws - this creates a small V shape that you can see either side of the diamond when viewed from the top.

Viewed from the top - If the diamond wasn't there you would see an X shape where the two diagonally apposing claws join

We would be very grateful if you could create a set of cad images that match these conditions If any of the images I've attached haven't appeared correctly please let me know and I will resend them.

Again thank you

Chris and Rachel

And here is Rachel’s ring, completed.

We can assess the cost of your item before it is made, as we know the weight of the item and the diamond or gemstone content.

We then produce a wax model of the item which is then used to make the final product.
