Can I come and view a diamond or a ring before I buy it?

Of course you can, simply use our booking system on the product page and arrange a time and date to come and see the ring and/or diamond in store.

Are you a diamond dealer?

No, we are manufacturing jewellers. We make all our own jewellery here in the jewellery quarter in Birmingham UK. We have been making jewellery for over 50 years and have been sourcing our diamonds from the same UK based companies for much of that time. All the diamonds on our website are in the UK.

Do you do Saturday deliveries?

Yes, please select that option at checkout. There is a £20 charge for Saturday delivery.

Can I buy someone a gift voucher for use on your website?

Yes, of course you can. Gift vouchers can be bought online for any ammount and redeemed either in store or on our website.

Do you do repairs while I wait?

No, we do not generally offer a 'while you wait' repair service. Items will need to be left with us in order for us to carry out the repairs properly.

Is 9ct gold more hardwearing than 18ct gold?

The simple answer to this is, no. One of the defining properties of gold is that it is very hard wearing in it's purest form. The common misconception is that the more 'alloy' that is added, the harder wearing the resulting gold alloy. This is simply not the case, the more copper/alloy that is added, the quicker it will wear away. There is a difference between 'hardness' (malleability) and 'hard-wearing'.

If I buy my own diamond from an online diamond dealer or another jeweller, can I buy a ring mount from you or will you set it in to one of your designs?

No.Victoria James' jewellery, including ring settings is made only for our diamonds and gemstones. We take pride in our level of quality and need to retain this for our customers. This is what keeps our brand pure and consistent. This does not apply to old, existing jewellery that customers want re-modelled.

I have lost my ring/jewellery. Will you provide me with a valuation if I describe them to you?

No, we can only value items for insurance if we are able to assess them ourselves. We can provide you with a 'quote to replace' letter to supply to an insurance company. This costs £75 and will be deducted off the price of the order, if proceeded, with us.

Do you ship internationally?

How much is postage to my country?

International shipping costs will be calculated according to the value of the cart total and when you have entered the delivery address. If no delivery cost is shown during the cart process then we will contact you with a quote.

Why don't you state carat weights on some of your gemstones?

This is because calibrated gemstones come in different weights due to the way they are cut, which is why we work on the measurements rather than the carat weight because they are consistent, for example a 7x5mm oval Ruby could weigh 0.75ct or it could weigh 1.00ct, however both stones still measure 7x5mm.

How will you deliver my item?

For delivery in the UK we use Royal mail special delivery service and for international orders we will deliver your items using UPS. Both services are tracked, insured and will need to be signed for upon receipt.

Will you deliver to a different address?

Unfortunately, for security reasons we can only deliver to the billing address of the card used to make payment unless payment is made by using our bank transfer option. If you would like to do this then please select this option at checkout.
