How do I order a bespoke, custom made ring or item of jewellery?
We know it can be a daunting prospect to get something bespoke or custom made, and you may think that it is a lot more expensive. Well, it isn’t.
At Victoria James jewellers we make all our rings and jewellery. We do not commission anybody else to make it, we make it all, in house in the Birmingham jewellery Quarter.
This means you can choose the design that you always had in mind for your perfect engagement ring, whether it’s a diamond solitaire or diamond trilogy ring or something completely different to anything you’ve seen before. You can choose the diamonds, rubies, sapphires or emeralds that you want in your custom rings or jewellery and it would be the same price as if they were already made and in stock.
The only thing that would make it slightly more expensive is if the design was one that we have not made before. The main price of your ring, pendant or earrings is going to be determined by the size and quality of the diamonds, sapphires, emeralds or rubies are that will be used. However, if you just want to change white gold for platinum or red gold, change an emerald for a ruby or add a few diamonds to an existing design of ours, then that’s easy.
The process for commissioning a custom, bespoke piece of jewellery starts by you giving us your ideas by sending us drawings or pictures of what you would like. We can then source the diamonds or gemstones for you to choose from that may be suitable. We should be able to give you a price at that stage and then we can go on to produce CAD drawings (if needed)
Once you have settled on the gemstones and confirmed the design with us we then get on with making your item.
It may be your first time commissioning a bespoke item of jewellery but we’ve been making custom, bespoke rings and jewellery here in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter for 45 years in one form or another. So, we have the experience to guide you through it.
You can ask any questions you like and we will do our best to answer them to clear up any worries or queries you might have.
